The Story Behind the Rest of the Nest: Handmade Keepsakes to Honor Loss and Celebrate Life

Rest of the Nest began from a deeply personal place. After experiencing a heartbreaking miscarriage, I longed for something tangible to hold onto. In the midst of my grief, I wanted something that represented the baby we lost and the love I still felt for that baby. I remember sitting at the kitchen table in tears, still trying to process what had happened. In front of me was a bouquet of red roses and baby’s breath from my husband. As I was looking at those delicate pieces of baby’s breath, I wondered if I could preserve a bud - a small but tangible way to hold on to and honor the baby we had just lost. I started googling baby’s breath necklaces, but when I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I decided to create it myself.

Since that day, Rest of the Nest has grown into a small handmade jewelry and keepsake company just outside of Savannah, Georgia. I have had the honor of creating over 12,000 keepsakes for families all over the world.

Every keepsake I make is designed to tell a story. Whether it’s a baby’s breath necklace, sonogram locket, a forget-me-not necklace, or a custom silhouette pendant, every keepsake is handmade with care, compassion, and meaning. My goal is to offer something that goes beyond jewelry. I hope to create a piece that helps you remember, honor, and hold them close.

Every order is made to honor a unique story, and I am so honored to be trusted with every story.  Whether it is a journey honoring a baby gone too soon or celebrating a long-awaited rainbow baby, every journey deserves to be remembered with something beautiful and lasting.

💛 From my hands to your heart, thank you for allowing me to create something so personal — a keepsake that reminds you that love always lives on.
